Pope High School Drama Club presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

   An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of [potentially made-up] words hoping to never hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. The show is a delightful den of comedic genius! Rating is PG-13.    SHOW DATES AND TIMES:
•Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 PM •Friday, March 4 at 7:00 PM •Saturday, March 5 at 3:00 PM (Saturday is a matinee only) •Friday, March 11 at 7:00 PM (Understudy cast is performing) •Saturday, March 12 at 7:00 PM

A Farmer’s Market is coming to Pope

The Pope Globalization Academy Foundation (PGAF) is sponsoring a fundraising partnership with Farm to Fork, CSA. Farm to Fork is a company based in Woodstock that will bring organic, locally sourced produce from small farms all over Georgia to Pope High School. When you order your produce bag using the Pope pick-up site, 10% of the proceeds from the order will be donated in support of the Globalization Academy.

With this fundraiser, the Globalization Academy is creating awareness for sustainability, local entrepreneurship and healthy living.  Support the Academy by logging on to the website;

www.farmtoforkcsa.com choose the size of your bag and select Pope as your delivery site.  Your bag will be delivered on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm by the Pope Greenhouse. Last pick up is at 5:00 pm.  The leftover bags will be donated.

Update Jan 19, 2016

It currently appears Meadow Drive will be closed mid to late February, 2016, for 30 days (exact dates still to be determined). While this road lacks sidewalks, pedestrians from Meadow Drive have been observed in our traffic studies/investigations accessing Pope HS. These student pedestrians will not have  short-distance road right-of-way access to Pope once this road is closed – there will be an open cut to replace the failing cross drains.
