PMMS Volunteer of the Year Honored

Tuesday, April 23 PMMS Volunteer, Tiffany Mathis, was honored at the Cobb Schools Foundation's Volunteer of the Year Awards Luncheon. In attendance with her was David Nelson, PMMS Principal, and Beverly Pleinus, PMMS PTSA President. For a school to be successful, there needs to be a clear vision, resources to support that vision, and the people to make that vision a reality. We are proud to have so many volunteers on our campus. The dedication that our school's volunteers have toward the vision of our school is seen through the fruits of their work with staff and students. Mrs. Mathis organizes volunteers for our PTSA school store, works and operates the store, helped form the Mustang Parent Action Committee, and even maintains the parent information board in the main office.

The volunteerism provided by Mrs. Mathis is just one example of how one person can help make Pine Mountain Middle School one of the best places to teach, lead, and learn. To learn more about how you can volunteer to support our school's vision, click here.

Cobb Schools to Roll Out New Parent Portal in January

During the October 18 Board of Education meeting, Cobb County School District leaders discussed the January launch of a new parent portal—CTLS Parent—that will show parents what their child knows and provide resources to help their child master other content areas. Initially, CTLS Parent will roll out to a select group of schools to serve as a proof-of-concept. The District will collect feedback from parents and teachers before CTLS Parent is expanded to all schools. Click here to read more.
