The Girls on the Run program provides girls (3rd through 5th grade) with the necessary tools to embrace their individual strengths.  Designed to promote positive views of body image, eating attitudes, and self-esteem, this program helps to improve a sense of identity and an increasingly active lifestyle for all program participants.

The 10 week/20 lesson spring program at Garrison Mill will be scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays.  The start date will soon be determined.  The maximum class size is 16.

The curriculum promises to teach life skills through group processing, running games, and workouts.  The curricula are based on extensive educational research and "on-the-track" testing.  The curriculum is taught by certified coaches and includes understanding ourselves, valuing teamwork, and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.  Girls choose and conduct a community service project.  At each season's conclusion, the girls complete a 5k running event as a group.
