Olympic Reading Challenge

Dickerson students and staff have the opportunity to participate in an Olympic Reading Challenge against 9 other middle schools in Cobb County. There are 5  Olympic reading events in which students can compete. The challenge will begin on February 1st and continue throughout the month.  In order to compete for a medal, students must click the link above and complete the "challenge form" for their event on the official blog. Show your Dickerson spirit and let's read and win some medals!

Early Release Dates for 2017-18

 Due to a change in the national testing schedule for the PSAT, the 2017-18 early release schedule previously communicated has been revised.

March 14 – Local Staff Development
May 22 & 23 – End of Semester/Year Early Release

The release times will be 1:30 for Middle Schools.

The B.Y.O.D. initiative allows students to bring personal devices to school for educational purposes.

Congratulations and thank you  to the ENTIRE  Dickerson Community for obtaining  the Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) award for the Highest Performing in the past three years on our school’s CCRPI scores.   Dickerson was the only middle school, for Highest Performing Criteria, in CCSD to receive Platinum.

The Governor's Office of Student Achievement recognized Dickerson as a winner of the 2015 Platinum Award in the Highest Performing category for exhibiting high academic performance, meaning that our overall achievement over the last three years has been in the top 1% of schools in the state.

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 25 and SB10) transfers for the 2017-2018 school year. Individual school capacity information and applications will be available beginning

Please remember that your child is not permitted to carry their book bag between classes - It will need to be stored in their locker.
