Events & Promotions in our School Cafeterias

Dairy Good News from Fuel Up To Play 60

During the month of January, Cobb school cafeterias promoted 3-Every-Day of Dairy.  The following excerpts highlight just a few of the events happening across the county.

A Buzz of Excitement in the Kincaid Cafe

Kincaid Elementary School and Sprayberry High School teamed up to encourage students to Fuel Up to Play.  Sprayberry football players, cheerleaders and mascot, Buzz, visited the Kincaid cafeteria and encouraged students to eat right and play 60 minutes each day.  The cheerleaders came up with the perfect cheer to encourage students to eat fruits, veggies, whole grains and dairy.  In addition, the high school students, principal and cafeteria staff served up samples of yogurt and homemade smoothies to students.  This event was held to kick off a grant program received from Southeast United Dairy Council.

Sprayberry Students Shine as Falcon’s Flag Crew

Fifteen students from Sprayberry High School had the opportunity to be the flag crew for the Falcons’ final home game.  Students unfurled the giant Falcons flag onto the field during player introductions.  This opportunity happened secondary to the students creating a commercial that encouraged their fellow classmates to drink more milk.  During the promotion, milk sales increased by 14%.

Pour One More at Lovinggood

The Lovinggood Middle School student-led Fuel Up to Play 60 team put on an exciting event in the school cafeteria.  The students decorated cafeteria tables with balloons and milk bottles labeled “Pour One More.”  A sea of students and faculty wore red in support of the promotion.  In addition, the DJ/physical education teacher spun tunes that inspired students and teachers to dance and “Pour One More” milk.  Students received a cup with the “Pour One More” logo as a reminder to drink more milk.  It was inspiring to see students and staff so excited about healthful eating and physical activity.

South Cobb Wins State “Rise Up, Fuel Up” Milk Competition

South Cobb High School more than doubled milk sales during the recent “Rise Up, Fuel Up” Milk Competition.  South Cobb’s efforts to increase milk consumption crushed the state competition.  As a reward, students will enjoy a Falcons pep rally complete with a Falcons’ player, cheerleader and Freddie Falcon.  Look for more information on the event coming this spring.
