New Teacher, Business Advisory Groups Share Dialogue, Feedback With Superintendent

Cobb County Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa this week met for the first time with two newly formed panels of key stakeholders, the Teacher Advisory Council and the Business & Community Advisory Committee. Both teams were initiated as part of the District’s strategic outreach plan to improve two-way communication with the people who impact and support public education in Cobb County.

The Teacher Advisory Council is comprised of 18 teachers – one elementary, middle and high school representative for each of the District’s six administrative areas. Earlier this spring, teachers with proven leadership experience were invited to apply to join the panel; these local school leaders will meet with Dr. Hinojosa five times during the school year to share teachers’ perspectives, ideas and voices on important issues. The group will explore ways to improve employee morale and better serve students and families. The 2012-2013 Teacher Advisory Council members are:

Cobb County business owners, community leaders and civic group representatives make up the Superintendent’s Business & Community Advisory Committee. Dr. Hinojosa will engage these local partners in long-term planning efforts and strengthening relationships between Cobb schools and the community. The group will provide valuable input as the district moves forward with revising its comprehensive strategic plan. The 2012-2013 committee members include (in alphabetical order):
