The Georgia Professional Standards
Commission has made substantive changes in the certification structures
for Educational Leadership.

These substantive changes constitute a
shift from traditional Educational Leadership Specialist degree programs
to Performance-Based Educational Leadership Specialist degree programs
(PL-6.) Districts and
universities now establish partnership agreements which involve the
mutual selection of candidates, the utilization of candidate support
teams to monitor the residency portions of each program, and the
continual collaboration necessary to offer candidates the highest
quality programs.
