Clarkdale Elementary Status
On January 28, 2010, the Cobb County Board of Education received a presentation regarding the future of
Clarkdale Elementary School. The same presentation was given at a public forum in the Clarkdale
community on Feb. 2, 2010 at Ewing Road Baptist Church.

Every year, the federal government can allocate awards of more than $400 billion to states and communities based, in part, on census data. Census data affect school
budgets, including the distribution of Title I funding and college tuition grant and loan programs. Community planners use census data to determine where to build new
schools, develop public transportation and create new roads. Census data affect your voice in Congress as well as the redistricting of state legislatures, county and city

School District Receives Official Notice Of Five-Year Reaccreditation by SACS
The Cobb County School District received official notice from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on
Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS) that the school district has been reaccredited for five years. SACS accreditation
is a critical validation of school operations, and most colleges and universities will accept only students who have graduated
from a SACS-accredited school. Read more

Thirty-six Cobb Schools Recognized By State For Improvement and Achievement
Thirty-six Cobb County schools have been honored for academic success by the Georgia Department of Education and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. The awards are based on student performance
on the 2008-09 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT, for elementary and middle schools) and the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT, for high schools).

The Cobb County School District is the first school system in the nation to distribute the new
Net Cetera: Chatting With Kids About Being Online internet safety guide to every family in the school district. Introduced in December 2009 by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Net Cetera is designed to help parents teach their children how to safely navigate the digital world of the Internet and mobile phones.
